VSO volunteers are there when disaster strikes
In times of disaster or crisis, many people lose everything they hold dear—their homes, belongings, even their loved ones. Life as they knew it falls apart in an instant.
That’s why VSO is committed to supporting vulnerable communities in their most difficult moments. Since the earthquake in Nepal in 2015, VSO has played a key role in providing humanitarian aid in 20 different countries.
When a crisis hits, our volunteers are already on the ground. They know their local communities and are well placed to respond in a crisis, making sure that food, water, and medical care reaches the right people quickly and effectively.
What’s more, when the world moves on, our volunteers are still there, providing vital support in their communities in the months and years it takes to recover after devastation.
