Volunteer jobs in agriculture and natural resources
VSO's secure livelihoods programmes help poor people learn the skills to make a decent living. Volunteers with a background in agriculture and natural resources play a vital part in those programmes.
We're looking for people who can offer support in a number of areas. In addition to your technical skills, it's really helpful if you can assist with things like enterprise and small business development, marketing, advocacy and lobbying or financial planning.
Agriculture and natural resource roles include:
- Agricultural specialists

- Natural resource managers
Stories from VSO volunteers
Helping Cambodian farmers take control of their businesses
VSO volunteer Giovanni Villafuerte is working in Cambodia alongside farmers to help improve their business skills. Enabling them to better provide for themselves and their families.
There is a beauty in volunteering. You stay in the field with the community. You learn about them. You bring practical solutions because of that in-depth experience. I have gone beyond my limits. I nearly reached my breaking point. But I was happy because I knew that I could go past that, I learnt to think outside the box. I am always on my toes. When you volunteer on a livelihoods placement, you are talking about people’s ability to live, survive and manage risks. It’s about addressing the core issues.
