Role overview

As a volunteer, you will provide technical support to Programme Managers to integrate policy and advocacy into the programme design and delivery of VSO programs. This will include supporting the development of tools and approaches that enable programs to capture evidence from the ground and translate it into programme messages and strategy for influencing policies. This will ensure that marginalised and vulnerable people and communities have a voice on policies and practices that affect them.

Skills, qualifications and experience

You have:-
A degree in Social Sciences or relevant qualifications.
Over 5 years experience in advocacy and campaigning, strategy development, policy analysis, social research or communications.
Experience of working for an NGO at local, national or international level.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in organizing workshops and meetings.
Good knowledge of participatory action research.
Flexible and creative person.
The ability to handle problems, obstacles and frustrating circumstances.

Allowance and accommodation

All volunteers have an allowance paid in local currency. The allowance meets reasonable living expenses in country, but will not be enough to send money home.

VSO works with some of the poorest communities in the world which means accommodation varies and will be basic.
