The purpose of this role is to ensure improved Knowledge & information management capacity at VSO.
It is also to improve the way knowledge is collected, accessed and handled across the organization/community.
It is to improve Organisational effectiveness by developing and embedding a unified knowledge management system, procedures and tools which will then help Community networks to better plan and execute their work, facilitate the flow and collection of updated information across networks, and emanated from different sources.
In addition, standardize and institutionalize the networking approaches through capacity building strategies, plans and tools, developed to improve effectiveness of each individual network, mainly by mentoring and coaching highly targeted training activities and follow up support. Lastly, lessons learned will be shared and replicated.
Skills, qualifications and experience
•Extensive experience in knowledge management by working with local networks in governance and social accountability sectors
•Experience in developing and designing knowledge management tools/guideline for local communities at national and sub-national level
•Strong knowledge in research, capacity building and ICT skills
•Experience leading group of dynamic in multi-sector settings
•Excellent interpersonal and team building skills
•Strategic and analytical skills
•Report writing skills
This is an anticipated role in Knowledge and Information Management opening up in 2020/2021. Details of the location and duration will be shared once the role is developed and funding confirmed.
