Role overview

To assist with the coordination of disaster risk analysis, relief and response, and to build capacity of the community to handle disasters.

Skills, qualifications and experience

• Experience in disaster analysis, disaster relief and disaster response management.
• Experience of working in a disaster area.
Disability expert with an inclination to disability and gender inclusion.
Experience using the Washington group of questions.

Allowance and accommodation

All volunteers have an allowance paid in local currency. The allowance meets reasonable living expenses in country, but will not be enough to send money home.

VSO works with some of the poorest communities in the world which means accommodation varies and will be basic.
