Horticulture adviser

Food security is a major problem for many rural inhabitants. You can help rural communities to develop dry-season gardening techniques, enabling them to grow adequate food all year round and generate additional income.

You’ll provide technical training and advice to small-scale farmers to increase crops at all stages of production. Working at grass roots level, you’ll work to develop crop systems, cultivation and post-harvest techniques. This may extend to working to improve quality, production and distribution.

You’ll be qualified to degree or diploma level, with at least two years experience of practical crop cultivation and production and plant breeding. Experience of working with local communities, NGO or farming cooperatives is desirable.

You could be working in Ghana, Tajikistan, Malawi, and Zambia.
