Whether you are ready to apply now, or you just want to be kept informed of VSO’s work for the time being, the registration form is your first step. It gives you the opportunity to tell us more about yourself and is also the first part of your full application form.
Please register your interest in VSO by filling in the online registration form.
If you tell us that you’re not ready to volunteer yet, we’ll stay in touch with you until the time is right for you to apply.
If you tell us that you are ready to volunteer now, and your skills and experience are in demand, we’ll send you an email inviting you to add more to the registration form to complete your application.
It will take around 20 minutes to complete the registration form. Please note that at this stage, you will not be able to save your registration therefore you will need to have to hand:
details of your relevant work experience (including dates).
The decision whether or not to invite you to apply will be based solely on the information included in your form. No assumptions will be made about your employment history, so please be detailed and accurate.details of any relevant qualifications (including dates).

What happens next?
Your application will be assessed to see if we have placements that match your skills and should this be the case you will be invited to an assessment day in Dublin to see if you have what it takes to use your skills to change lives.
If your assessment day is successful, you will attend various training courses and be matched to a placement overseas. The usual time to be matched to a placement is between four and eight months, although in certain cases the time period can be longer.
