Scale Africa’s highest mountain 2011

At 5,895m, Mount Kilimanjaro is the world’s highest mountain that can be climbed with no technical experience. This 10-day trek will push you to the limit but offers breathtaking scenery throughout. This trek will also include a visit to a VSO programme in Kenya.

Kilimanjaro is the only one of the famous 'seven summits' (the tallest mountains on each of the continents) that can be climbed with no technical experience, making it an achievable challenge for those who are prepared to train for the ascent.

We are ascending via the Rongai route, which is recognised as both the most beautiful and least difficult climb to the 'Rooftop of Africa'. The Rongai route starts just south of the Kenya-Tanzania border and has been mostly unused for many years. Now open for trekking once again, experienced guides consider this ascent route to be both more managable and more beautiful than the main Marangu trail.
